ROD STEWART - SAILING - (SONG TRANSCRIPTION IN PHONETICAL FORMAT).

Hi, everyone...

Sailing is necessary. If you want to find new ways of living your life and meet new people, you'd better sail. And even if want to go back to somebody else's arms, sailing is a good way to.

This song by Rod Stewart expresses this wish to get back to someone special.

But, let's go to another point.

If you're a student, and you know something about phonemes, take your time and enjoy singing the song. Try to write down and sing along.

If you're a teacher, here's a suggestion to use the following methodology:

1 - play the song so that students listen to it;
2 - play it once more, but pausing after each part;
3 - ask them to try to write down the parts they've listened to;
4 - check up the words they've written down;
5 - provide them the lyrics in phonetical format;
6 - listen again, and make the corrections according to the song.

Make sure that this song is used only for didactical and pedagogical purposes. See that the chart contains the lyrics in phonetical format on the left side, and on the right, traced lines are provided so that students may write down the words as they listen to the song. Copy the image, paste it to a document in a word processor, and then share with your students.

This song contains some sentences presenting the "present continuous". It's a good hint to use it to teach students who are learning this grammatical feature, and the song as well.

Enjoy yourself and sing it.
